Why are Horses so important in war?

Foremost Horses in war. Why were they Important?

By EDEN DWYER

Everyone knows that men had to fight in the wars and they had to take their part. But not only men took their part in war. There were horses too, around 6 million horses went to war.The horses in war were very foremost to the soldiers because they can go through what carts or drivers in wagons can’t. Like big floods and heavy mud. The horses were told to go to war to work by carrying things on their tired backs. They were like slaves. They had to cross dangerous
rivers. Horses were brave in those vile days of working. The horses were used for communication or to put supplies on and so on. I’m telling you again that the horses were very important because they were playing a hard role for a horse in the war. They carry more weight than the soldiers who travel to war.

Most of their transportation were roads and railways. They had to cope with the ghastly conditions. In the hard rocky roads, railheads and rare trenches. Though the horses weren’t suppose to be in the trenches.

Soldiers depended on their horses to carry their weapons and anything they need.
But if the horse is sick and falls down and can’t do anymore, the soldiers sadly had to kill them or leave them slowly dying over the night with no help. But sadly, only 62,000 horses came back. There were animals like
dogs for a mascot, pigeons to send messages, camels, elephants even.

At School I have to make a Newspaper Report about why Horses are so important in war. I love doing this because their were interesting facts and its in History. Maybe I should work on writing more information about horses. About what they did after the abhorrent war. I thought the horses were very brave and had a lot of courage. It must have been hard work. Working for the soldiers. I couldn't get my real newspaper on the blog because my newspaper that had the info was a bit small. So I created this instead. Because the computer won't do as it was told properly, at least the info is there. I hope you have found this interesting because I tried to get this on the blog.
